Imperial Wharf

Two water features either side of the entrance to the Boulevard provide new signage for the existing development. The water flows over the horizontal section of glass and then down the vertical face behind the signage.

Both features are illuminated by white LED light to enhance the appearance. During the evening time the LED lights illuminate the water features bringing a whole new aspect to that of the daytime.

The frame was designed to accommodate the mechanical and electrical equipment, lighting and granite. The water feature works were constructed off-site within the framework and delivered ready for installation of the glass and granite. This approach ensured there was minimal disruption on site for the existing occupants.

Featuring three external honed stone monoliths over which water runs offering a stunning entrance to the new development.

Each monolith is illuminated by LED strips. During the evening time the LED lights illuminate the water as it passes over the stone and brings a whole new aspect to the feature to that of the daytime.

Two raised, curved and sweeping granite structures on either side of a walkway, each with a semi-circular base pool. The water flows along the top surface down the steps and to the pool, it offers a tranquil and peaceful space where people can relax and enjoy the cooling environment.

The 2014 RHS Flower Show garden “Positively Stoke-on-Trent” was designed and built by top London based company Bartholomew Landscaping in partnership with Stoke City Council – the same team that delivered last year’s roaring success, winning a Silver medal on their debut with their ‘Transformation garden’.

The “Positively Stoke-on-Trent” garden represented a city with a new clarity of purpose and new sources of energy. The garden’s clear lines, circuits, solar panels and high-tech materials, reflected the technological revolution. The glass pavilion reflected water, earth and air: the city’s emerging sustainable energy ambitions.    The planting was inspired by nature’s re-colonisation of Stoke-on-Trent, reconnecting the city to nature and conveyed the message that Stoke-on-Trent is a dynamic and creative place of opportunity for all.

The Positively Stoke-on-Trent garden with its giant stainless steel and water arches with calming water pool was a fabulous contemporary design that made a great show piece.

Water flowing over three external stone monoliths creates a tranquil, peaceful and cooling environment.

To further enhance the feature, each monolith is illuminated by LED strips. During the evening time the LED lights illuminate the water as it passes over the stone and brings a whole new aspect to the feature to that of the daytime.

There is also a misting system to create mist around the stainless steel water wall.

The water feature surrounds a central lawn and consists of upper and lower pools connected by two shallow rills.

White dimmable pool lights are located in between the upper pool stepping stones and also under the four rill bridges.

The water feature was constructed as two separate features.

The water feature consists of a large upper pool formed adjacent to the tower on both sides. The upper pool has been formed with a vertical water wall at each end. To the northern end water drops into a narrow pool at the foot of the fall. To the southern end water drops into a large shallow fountain jet pool.

Each water wall is illuminated using a linear LED strip light.

The large base pools each incorporate a series of fourteen vertical clearstream fountain jets with a maximum height of 1m. These jets are illuminated using colour-change and white LED donut lights.

The feature is located within the podium gardens which overlook the River Thames.

The feature is on two levels and consists of an upper pool from which the water cascades over a 12m wide x 3 m high wall into a lower pool.

The wall is constructed from ribbed granite which gives a shimmering effect to the cascading water.

Within the lower pool there is an island platform accessed from pool stepping stones.

White linear LED lighting illuminates the entire wall after darkness

A waterfront residential development overlooking the River Thames incorporates this cascading rill water feature over three sets of steps on its way to 6 water jets (bubblers) located in the lower section.

Each jet is illuminated by a white LED light, in the evening time the LED lights catch the jets and bring a whole new aspect to the feature to that of the daytime. There are also white LED’s in the rill.

The water features are shallow mirror pools located either side of the main building entrance.

Water flows into the pools through sumps from where it flows over the pool weir edges and into below paving level troughs.
