Courtyard water feature with a unique aesthetic element

Two raised rill features flowing from one end of the feature to the other, positioned between planters covered in evergreens, enhance a landscaped courtyard space.

Whilst the surface level of the water remains constant, the planting rises and falls beside the feature, creating the appearance of a stream flowing through a landscape. A depiction of the River Tyburn which formerly flowed through the area.

Two skylights that provide natural light into the area below are also incorporated into one of the features. When viewed from below, the soft movement of the water’s surface over the skylight maximizes the amount of light that enters while creating a dappled look.

The water treatment equipment and storage tank are located in a plant room, located on the second floor of the basement.

The two primary processes of the water feature, display and, water storage and treatment are independent of one another.

The water treatment system is designed to control bacteriological growth and maintain a high quality of water in the holding tank to ensure the display water is safe.
